Ummm... What has been going on in my life since October 11, 2008??? I can't believe it has been so long since I have sat down to share my thoughts! I guess all that coupon clipping sent me over the edge!!

Well, since then, I stopped coupon clipping- twice, changed jobs-twice, been furloughed- twice, went on several vacations, started going to fertility doctor, got pregnant, miscarried, fertility doctor retired & now I am a patient of a fertility doc number 2 & started building a house. Is that all??? Whew- that is enough...

So let's talk about building a house, humor me. Everyone always says it is hard process & if your marriage survives building a house, it can with stand anything else that comes along. Well, I am not having trouble with the hubby- if we overlook the fight over the paint color in the Lowe's paint aisle & the light bulb disagreement at the same store- I am surprised that by now they don't give us boxing gloves at the door. My trouble is the builder & his electrical subcontractor. We are in month 7 1/2 of this house build. The complacent builder pretty much dropped off the earth during months 3, 4 & 5. We have had 16 full & total weeks here & there where no one shows up to work. Our electrician, I guess doesn't know that he CAN work 8 hours here or even 10 or maybe even on the weekends? He only works 3 to 4 hours at a time & that is stretching it. At this rate- it will be October of 2014 before he completes this job. I am getting very anxious at all this mess. Our old fridge passed away back in early August, don't worry kids, it was a fast painless passing. But that has sent me over the edge. To add to my anxiety, my biological clock is ticking so very loudly in my ear that I cannot concentrate on getting any packing done. We have purposely put all that on hold due to my going from zero to 400 degrees in half a second over things such as pantry doors, paint color, light bulbs and electricians... Stress is bad for making eggs & making them grow.

But luckily I am married to Joey- he is handier than a pocket on a shirt. He has really done a lot on his own while waiting on contractors to come in. He prepared the dirt for the concrete slab, he & my brother dug the trench for the footing for the house, helped with the pouring of the concrete slab, then had to pour the garage floor himself, painted the walls, cleaned & stained all of the concrete floors, picked out the fireplace, installed & rocked the fireplace with help from his friend, found some old barn metal - cut it all up and put it all up in various places, helped me with the making of my home made lighting. He will also pour our front & back porches, sidewalks & driveway. I know I could not have done all this stuff. I am so thankful for him!

Our home will be beautiful once we finally get in it. And that is all because of him- he his so supportive & has such a good eye for things. I love him!
Enjoy the photos below of some of Joey's handiwork. Bear with me- I could just choose a couple of pics- so I uploaded a bunch of them.
This is our land before we started clearing it all out

Cleared out took out a lot of trees

Hauled in some dirt to fill in the holes that were caused by uprooting all those trees

Joey found this metal out in mom & dad's pasture from when they raised pigs 40 years ago- before I was born. It is the perfect addition to our home- bringing in some of my family's past and incorporating it into our family's future.

So there ya go... all caught up for the last 5 years. Our lives are pretty mundane, but that is the way we like it. I am blessed beyond measure. I am very thankful for all my family & friends. Thanks to listening to my ramblings. Until next time...
